Why did I start Pip & Co Travel?

Why did i start Pip & Co Travel?

When I decided I wanted to start my own travel company, I really wanted it to be different and impactful, as well as providing the best and most meaningful experiences for people who choose to travel with me.

You can read some of the ways I am trying to do this here ↓

~ I like to travel in the low or shoulder season and not in high season to spread the impact of our money across the year
~ we choose to stay at locally owned accommodation
~ we visit the highlights of the destination, but also travel outside of the main tourism hotspots
~ we adhere to the slow-er travel principle, staying longer in each place
~ we meet local people and engage with communities in a more deeper way than many other travel companies
~ we incorporate learning experiences into all of our tours – from learning some of the language, to learning about the cuisine, local foods and drinks, history, way of life and current issues
~ we love travelling with families and we encourage families with children of all ages to book with us on our family trips
~ we are inclusive and welcome travellers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities
~ we constantly look for ways to improve our travel style and lessen our environmental impact on our world
~ we link our tours – so to minimise the need for our tour managers and guides to fly more often and if our customers want to add on another tour, it is made easy and less carbon intensive for them
~ we hire local guides to support the running of our trips
~ we travel in small groups – no more than 14 people to ensure we have a small travel footprint
~ we include sensible things, the majority of meals and don’t make you pay extras
~ we incorporate passions and interests into our trips, whether that’s language learning, history, bird-watching, water sports, food and wine

What is important to you when you are considering who to travel with?

Let me know!

PS pic from my most recent trip to Taipei (with a toddle in tow) and I’m eating a red bean bun – dou sha bao 豆沙包.

Don’t forget to check out the Upcoming trips page – we have some amazing trips planned for 2024, including to Viet Nam, Laos and Cambodia.
